Beautiful setting with lovely staff! My first time in York and this was for my girlfriends birthday we absolutely loved it here 10/10! When we’re in York again we will be coming back here and them waffle fries are amazing! Seriously if you haven’t tried well what are you doing! And thank you too our waitress Agata lovely service especially with the surprise birthday sundae!

Superb atmosphere, great service and food was really good. Actually fantastic with food allergies, really prepared and willing to advise you. One of the first places to really take it seriously and not just protecting themselves. Well done guys.Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Definitely a place to visit.

Visited Cut and Craft on Monday after a quick Google search for "best steak house in york" and we weren't disappointed.The food was absolutely beautiful, the flat iron steak was good perfectly.Well presented food in a lovely venue.100% recommend a visit.

This venue looks the part it's clean, modern and a bit industrial. The centre of the venue is a bar with a great set of stairs the lead up to the rest rooms. The food itself is great I enjoyed the garlic prawns, probably more I will be longing to have them again. I then went on to have the rib eye steak rare with the buttery mash and peppercorn sauce. This was cooked as requested and was good. Sadly this venue was let down by its service, the service was exactly that just service. There was no spark and people working to make their customers feel special. The service wasn't bad though just nothing to shout about. Otherwise great venue if not a little bit pricey. Would go again though.

One of the best steakhouses my partner and I have been to. Modern but cosy, with great atmosphere, quick service and amazing food. Our waiter was genuinely very friendly and full of energy. Definitely added to the perfect experience. Sorry I didn't catch his name to give him a well deserved shout out. I'm not local but would definitely make a visit back to York just to go back to this restaurant. I definite recommendation!

Do You Allow Children?

We regretfully cannot admit any minors under the age of 10 for dinner reservations. However, families with children under the age of 10 are welcome for lunchtime bookings.

Do You Allow Pets?

Unfortunately, pets are not permitted.

What Is the Dress Code?

The general rule of thumb for our dress code is smart casual. Guests are kindly asked to dress for the occasion when they visit The Cut & Craft. Smart jeans and fashion trainers are welcome, but beachwear and gym wear (including tracksuits, flip flops, and caps) are not permitted.

Is There Outdoor Dining Available?

We regretfully do not offer outdoor dining at our York location currently.

Do You Do Group Bookings?

Yes, The Cut & Craft can accommodate large groups of up to 8 guests with advance bookings. You’ll receive a booking confirmation email with the date, time and number of guests.

Can I Alter My Booking?

If you need to make changes, we will try our best to accommodate you. Please let us know as soon as possible. We ask for at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel any reservations. A cancellation fee may apply.

Should I Book Ahead?

You may book a table at The Cut & Craft at any time using our website reservation system. Reservations are not necessary at our York restaurant but are recommended, especially if you have a large group. View our FAQs page for more details.
