Our original York restaurant has recently underdone an extensive refurbishment. The decor introduces a refined new look that blends modern luxury with York’s rich heritage. From the entrance through to the restaurant, bar and restrooms, the space has been reimagined using richer stones, darker timbers, deep blue tones and warm brass finishes. Bespoke wallpapers, curated artwork and statement mirrors add depth and elegance, creating an elevated yet welcoming dining environment.
While the surroundings have been updated, the menu remains unchanged, continuing to showcase premium steaks, exceptional seafood and expertly curated Champagne.

Our steak restaurant in York is our original location and retains the timeless elegance and beauty of the historic building in which we began our journey as local restaurateurs. The Cut & Craft York location is open all day, every day. Join us from 11am until 11pm throughout the week, and 10am-11pm on Saturday and Sunday. Food is served until 10pm.

Our flagship restaurant in York is located in the historic City Centre, just minutes from several iconic local landmarks, including York Minster and The Shambles. We offer easy access by car or public transport.

We regretfully cannot admit any minors under the age of 10 for dinner reservations. However, families with children under the age of 10 are welcome for lunchtime bookings.

The general rule of thumb for our dress code is smart casual. Guests are kindly asked to dress for the occasion when they visit The Cut & Craft. Smart jeans and fashion trainers are welcome, but beachwear and gym wear (including tracksuits, flip flops, and caps) are not permitted.

If you are celebrating, please let our team know. We will arrange for a birthday card to be placed on your table from our team. Yes, The Cut & Craft can accommodate large groups of up to 8 guests with advance bookings. You’ll receive a booking confirmation email with the date, time and number of guests.

If you need to make changes, we will try our best to accommodate you. Please let us know as soon as possible. We ask for at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel any reservations. A cancellation fee may apply.

You may book a table at The Cut & Craft at any time using our website reservation system. Reservations are recommended, especially if you have a large group. View our FAQs page for more details.

The Cut & Craft is located in York City Centre in St. Sampsons Square within a 5-minute walk of four bus stops: Stonebow, Theatre Royal, Piccadilly, and Low Ousegate. Alternatively, we are a 19-minute walk away from York train station.
