A New Chapter for The Cut & Craft Leeds

We are proud to introduce the expansion of The Cut & Craft Leeds, a new chapter that will transform our restaurant into an even more immersive destination for dining, drinking and celebration.

In late spring 2026, our iconic Grade II-listed venue will unveil an adjoining elegant bar and lounge, alongside two beautifully appointed private dining rooms, creating an expanded setting for refined dining and elevated evenings.

Located in the iconic Victoria Quarter near Kirkgate Market, The Cut & Craft promises to transform the Leeds casual premium dining scene.

Private Dining, Reimagined

Our new private dining rooms will offer intimate yet impressive spaces for celebratory dinners, corporate entertaining and special occasions. Designed with subtle influence from Wallace Hartley’s Titanic journey, the interiors will reflect understated opulence, timeless craftsmanship and thoughtful detail. Here, private dining in Leeds becomes something truly exceptional.

While our new spaces take shape, we are delighted to continue hosting larger group bookings within our existing restaurant, delivering the same refined experience our guests know and love.

Evenings, Elevated

The expansion will also introduce a dedicated stage, bringing a programme of carefully curated live musicians to the venue each week. With subtle nods to Wallace Hartley, the Leeds-born bandleader of the Titanic, and the building’s heritage as Collinson’s Café, once a celebrated social meeting place, the space will honour its musical and cultural legacy while embracing a refined new era.

As the evening unfolds, guests can enjoy world-class cocktails, premium spirits and Champagne, complemented by elevated bar snacks, all served within surroundings that transition effortlessly from relaxed daytime sophistication to vibrant late-evening ambience.

Throughout the day, our much-loved Afternoon Tea will be served in the new bar and lounge, ensuring timeless elegance from morning through to night.

The History Of Our Building

Our Leeds restaurant is located in the heart of the City that once was the former Collinson’s Cafe. You can expect a luxurious setting that maintains the character and history of the building with a beautiful central dome and a classic circular central bar.

In 1906, the site was occupied by Collinson’s, a local family-run business famous for tea blending and coffee roasting. The front of the store was used for selling confectionery and the rear of the store was home to Collinson’s Café, which gained a reputation for being a great place to enjoy tea, cakes, and live music. Music played a huge part in the success of the business, with live music nights and a string quartet often playing to accompany guests’ dining.

A member of the regular string quartet that played at the site was a talented musician named Wallace Hartley. Music, it turned out, would be his blessing and his curse, for it was his musical talent that resulted in his offer to work as bandmaster on The White Star Line’s luxury shipping liner, The Titanic.

The tragic events on the night of the 14th of April, 1912, are legendary, and so too was Wallace’s response to the disaster. He gathered all eight musicians on the ship and began to play for passengers as they boarded the lifeboats. In Wallace’s pockets, amongst other things recovered from Titanic, was a silver matchbox engraved ‘From Collinson’s Staff Leeds’. We are proud to pay tribute to Wallace’s heroism and honour his time spent playing music for guests in this building.
